Who can truly serve You
Without drinking deeply of Your presence?
Who among us truly knows You?
The weight of Your truth is crushing
Your word is like a hammer
That shatters illusion
What You give me
Cannot be taken away
The treasure of heaven
Is unaffected by this world
Neither fire of hatred
Nor flood of error
Can topple God's pillar of Truth
It stands deeply rooted
Having descended into the bowels of the earth
It ascends to heaven
And sits at the right hand of the Father
The darkness cannot comprehend it
Fools cannot perceive it
The faithless cannot believe it
It is a pinnacle
That cannot be climbed by human effort
What God Himself reveals
He also gives understanding
Whom God gives understanding
Cannot be shaken
The heavens may be shaken
And the mountains crumble into the sea
But the foundation of understanding
Endures forever
The Lord by wisdom founded the earth, by understanding He
established the heavens. (Prov 3:19)
It is He Who made the earth by His power, Who established
the world by His wisdom; and by His understanding He has stretched out the
heavens. (Jer 10:12)
To Him Who made the heavens with understanding, for His
lovingkindness is everlasting. (Ps 136:5)
It is He Who made the earth by His power, Who established
the world by His wisdom, and by His understanding He stretched out the heavens.
(Jer 51:15)
This is why it says: "When He ascended on high, He
led captives away, and gave gifts to men." What does "He
ascended" mean, except that He also descended to the lower parts of the
earth? He Who descended is the very One Who ascended above all the heavens, in
order to fill all things. (Eph 4:8-10)
See that you do not refuse Him Who is speaking. For if they did not escape when they refused Him Who warned them on earth, much less will we escape if we reject Him Who warns from heaven.
At that time His voice shook the earth, but now He has promised, "Yet once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens." This phrase, "Yet once more," indicates the removal of things that are shaken--that is, things that have been made-- in order that the things that cannot be shaken may remain.
Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire. (Heb 12:25-28)
